GREYTON ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY
When we moved to Greyton in 2021, we did what everyone who moves out of a city apartment does – we adopted a dog from the local welfare. We quickly found out that Greyton Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) was at serious risk of closing down and, inspired by our first dog, Mochi, we knew we had to do what we could to help.
We created a new logo, look and brand overhall, and started creating more fun, hopeful and channel-relevant marketing content to help with their fundraising, education drives, adoption and other efforts.
While small NGOs like GAWS inevitably need constant fundraising, GAWS is now on the up and is geared to help even more dogs and cats in the Valley of the Six in the next year.

Fundraising campaigns

We asked Greytonians to buy an additional bag of rice when the shop at OK, which they can donate to GAWS

We created an Ice hockey tournament, where the town marches to the river (with their dogs), to see if the river is frozen enough to play. It usually isn't. But the membership fee's go to GAWS.

We Also created a team logo for each area in our valley and sold it to raise more funds.

We teamed up with a local donkey sanctuary called EARS and had a fundraising Disco.

We held a PUP QUIZ at one of our local establishments, that raised money for rebuilding the GAWS kennels.

We run monthly campaigns that remind people to donate their unused bric-a-brac to the GAWS charity shop.
Education

We run educational social media posts as often as possible, as well as printed flyers we drop off at schools for the vast numbers of our community members that are not on social media.
